Method: scaling and monetizing an adult affiliate site from scratch
Learn a step-by-step method of successfully running your own adult affiliate site from scratch with this guest post so you, too, can start making money online!
I love affiliate marketing.
Why? Because once my website is driving traffic, I make money on autopilot.
Many affiliate sites are sold for millions.
The best part about an affiliate site is that once the initial work is done and your website is driving traffic from google, you will make money on autopilot.
This is the reason more and more webmasters are shifting their focus towards creating more and more affiliate-based sites.
But the building, scaling, and approach to monetizing a site is not always easy; you need expertise in numerous areas, primarily SEO.
Since this article is targeted to CrakRevenue affiliates, today I will be telling you my exact step-by-step approach towards creating and monetizing an adult site from scratch.
CrakRevenue is one of the best affiliate networks around. They have affiliate offers from almost all of the big brands in the adult industry such as Brazzers, MyFreeCams, etc.
You can do Media Buys to track conversions by scaling up your winning campaigns, or you can go my route of ranking websites and simply start making money easier on autopilot.
So without wasting any more time, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of creating an adult site tailored to adult affiliate offers from scratch!
Make sure to read this entire post … we have a case study at the end that I’m sure that you’ll love.
Here’s what you need:
1. Adult Hosting and a domain name
For creating your website, you need an adult-friendly hosting company. This is important because not all companies allow adult content on their hosting (forget Siteground, WP-Engine, etc.).
Also, you need an SEO-friendly domain name.
Before buying the domain name, you first need to select the niche of your site. Having the main keyword of your niche in the domain will help in your SEO pursuit.
This is more related to niche research and then finding and downloading all the keywords you will be targeting for your website.
For keyword research and niche research we will be using the software Ahrefs. Worry not, Ahrefs offers a 7-day trial so you can test things out.
Before researching anything specific though, you should compile a list of niches that interest you most. Next, make sure CrakRevenue has something suitable for the niche that you choose.
That said, if said tailored affiliate offer is unavailable, then even if you can drive traffic to your site, you won’t have any way to make money with it.
For example, let’s say you are promoting Brazzers PPS…
You would then turn to Ahrefs to find all keywords with buyer intent for Brazzers Premium.
I checked with ahrefs, and this is the results I got:
Now, that’s a really good traffic volume. Also, the keyword difficulty is zero: that’s a golden opportunity!
3. Now let’s talk about creating your site and adding your content
I use and recommend WordPress. It’s easy and beginner friendly.
So, visit WordPress and install any free theme that suits your needs.
Now write the most amazing article targeting your keyword, for instance with Brazzers Premium I will write the most comprehensive article.
I might cover:
- What is Brazzers Premium?
- Cons and pros
- WHY to buy & HOW to buy
- And last but not least, my own review of my experience using it
You probably get the point; in the end, your goal is to write the most amazing and helpful article for anyone looking for more information about a Brazzers Premium membership.
Make sure you incorporate all of the keywords you are targeting in the text of your content. This is vital for on-page SEO of your site.
Once your article is done and published, it’s time for some search engine optimization!
4. Now let’s talk about SEO
This is the complex and difficult part of this overall process
This is where most people lose hope and abandon any work that they’ve put in.
If you are familiar with SEO though, you should know that link building in 2018 isn’t always a walk in the park.
Link building is key.
For this, for such a complex and broad area, I’m going to refer you to an excellent starting point:
Also, backlinks. Don’t forget backlinks!
Backlinks are one of the most important aspects to getting your articles ranked.
Also, when we talk about adult websites, building backlinks is even more difficult because not everyone wants a connection to an adult site (but don’t worry, you’ll find plenty of other adult site owners willing to link to yours in exchange for a link trade).
I have been doing SEO for many years now…
Today, I will be sharing with you my techniques on how to build high-quality backlinks for your site or articles.
Here are some of the ways..
This is by far the best way for building high-quality backlinks. But this requires a lot of effort as you need to provide a high-quality article for the site you are guest-posting on.
In between your guest posts you can even link back to your article…
If your keyword difficulty is low, even with only a few guest posts (like 4-5) your article will easily rank in the first five results and even on the #1 spot after a couple of months.
Also, make sure that you don’t do all those links in just a few days. Space it out. Maybe shoot for one backlink once a week?
This works sometimes but in my opinion it’s not as good nor is it as effective as a guest post.
With this technique, you check the competing article that’s already outranking your target keywords.
Now, let’s go back to the Brazzers Premium example…
Put their original site URL in Ahrefs and check all backlinks/referring domains.
You can then do some outreach; email anyone you can. You can ask that they replace a link with your article or site, or simply ask if they’d be kind enough to add yours (with the intended goal of your article being of higher quality than the others).
Don’t necessarily expect a higher conversion rate, but yes, this technique works.
Once you have mastered this method for one of your sites and your article has ranked #1, well, let’s just it shouldn’t be long until you’re making $100/day!
Since Brazzerz is paying $25-30/signup, you can easily get 3-4 signups a day if you know how to sell.
You can then scale this process for other affiliate offers up and begin creating your affiliate-site empire.
Now let’s talk about a case study:
If you own an adult site, then you must have heard about ThePornDude. This website is driving almost 30 million visitors/month.
They have adult affiliate links all over their site. I can’t even imagine the amount of money ThePornDude must have made from this site. But I bet it’s easily in the ballpark of $100,000 +- /month.
They have many high search volume articles that are ranking #1. All because they have hundreds of backlinks.
His SEO effort is giving amazing returns.
Mistakes beginners make when they start an affiliate site:
Using Black Hat Techniques
I’m not going to sugar coat this: some of the black hat techniques around won’t do you any good in the long term. Never, ever use any black hat SEO when it comes to building backlinks to your site!
Building quality links can be difficult, we all know this.
But trust me, you don’t want to cut corners by investing in any black hat ways.
Instead of helping your site, Google will penalize you, and all your efforts will go to waste.
SEO is like a marathon; you have to be patient while continuously building regular links.
So, keep your SEO efforts as a part-time thing if that’s what you need to do … until you have mastered the process, or until you have funds to invest more money into scaling up the overall process.
I have been doing it for almost 4-5years now, and this is why I have currently invested thousands of dollars in multiple affiliate sites.
I hope the process was easy to understand. If you still have any question feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I will be quick to reply.
