Get Started with the ACH Payment system
A new payment system is now available for CrakRevenue affiliates all around the world. Learn everything there is to know to make the switch right now.
It’s not every day we introduce a new way for affiliates to get paid. In fact, it hasn’t been long since we announced PayPal’s addition to CrakRevenue as an available pay method last summer.
As long as you have an account in either the US or Canada, you can choose this payment option. As we knew this would end up disappointing several affiliates who don’t have accounts in these select countries, we quickly started evaluating other options to easily and effortlessly send money all around the globe.
Care to explain what the heck is ACH?
ACH stands for automated clearing house, an electronic network for financial transactions. It’s run by the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA), known in the USA as EFT.
This payment method allows you to get paid from CrakRevenue in your local currency, i.e. the one associated with your own bank account.
Regardless of your currency, payments will be issued in USD initially and show up in USD in your affiliate dashboard. The fees for such operations are low enough that you won’t feel betrayed once the final amount is deposited in your account.
ACH allows for a variety of usages: credit transfer, business-to-business (B2B) payments and direct debit payments. It’s a cheap and effective way to send money fast.
Below are the countries and currencies available for ACH payment:
|Canada*||CAD or USD (bank account currency must match)|
|Norway||EUR or NOK (bank account currency must match)|
|United Kingdom||EUR or GBP (bank account currency must match)|
|United States Dollar||USD|
*Special note for payments going to Canada: if your bank’s institution number only has 3 digits, please add a 0 at the beginning to meet the 9 digit requirement (e.g., 0XXX XXXXX).
How can I switch to the ACH payment system?
Simply head over to your affiliate profile, located in our online platform. Once you’re logged in, click the “Billing Information” tab. Under Payment methods (fees), you’ll see a dropdown list featuring all available payment options: check, wire, Paxum, PayPal and finally ACH.
Select ACH from the list, hit the Save changes button at the bottom of the page and voila! Be aware that modifying any of your payment information—whether it’s bank account, payment method or billing address—will trigger an automatic security protocol where you need to confirm changes made to your account by email. Simply click the included link to confirm changes.
Also, please note any modifications to your CrakRevenue Profile or change of Payment Methods should be made at least 5 business days BEFORE the end of a pay period (your next scheduled payment) to ensure up-to-date synching & preferred payment processing.
For instance, if you were to get paid on January 31st, changes should be made before January 24th.
What are the main benefits of using ACH as a payment option?
As written previously, automated clearing house is electronic from the get-go, which means you don’t have to deal with checks or other paperwork. Thus, they’ve proven to be eco-friendly in a world where environmental issues could use more time under the limelight. Although that might be stretching the definition of benefits to affiliates, it’s still something to take into account.
Further, the ACH payment system is linked to real, tangible benefits for both users and businesses. Here’s a few of them:
- Faster: since ACH are online transactions like wire transfer or Paxum, they don’t need the labor nor the time required for payment systems of old. Processing time isn’t slowed down by having to send something through the mail, like checks for instance.
- Cheaper: processing paper checks and plastic credit/debit cards can put a toll on businesses. The fees quickly add up. Thankfully with ACH fees are not a percentage of your total (unlike CC) but rather a fixed fee of 2$.
- Secure: since ACH operate online, it’s much less prone to fraud. Hacking a financial institution is an order-of-magnitude larger than stealing and/or tampering with physical checks or papers.
